These classes are offered in place of the Lab classes. Students are required to take them, but they can choose a class where they can work on a specific language skill.
If you are a Level 3 student and have not yet expressed your preference, please read the description below and send Anna Eddy (Anna.Eddy@unt.edu) an email with your last name, your first name, and the name of the most preferred class (1st choice) and another class (2nd choice) in case the first one is not available.

Level 3 Listening Class – 1st choice

Level 3 Listening Class
The purpose of the Listening Class is to help students improve their academic listening skills. Students listen to short academic talks, write and speak about this information, and practice listening for the topic, main idea, details, and numbers.
Level 3 Speaking Class
The goals of the Speaking Class are to help students develop academic speaking skills and improve their presentation skills. In this class, students express information and opinions using academic English, learn how to develop an effective outline for their presentations, give short presentations on a variety of topics, and work on pronunciation.
Level 3 Spelling Class
In the Spelling Class, students develop their spelling skills by learning and practicing spelling patterns in English. These activities are designed to help students improve their spelling in general and be able to spell words correctly in compositions and on tests.
